"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."

-Galatians 6:9 NKJV

In his junior year of high school, Drew Brees suffered a devastating injury when he tore his ACL. He went from not knowing if he was able to play football again to playing football at Purdue University. Eventually, he went to play for the San Diego Chargers, but in the last year of his contract, he dislocated his shoulder. In 2006, he ended up moving to New Orleans to play for the New Orleans Saints nearly a year after Hurricane Katrina hit. As of 2019, Brees is the number one quarterback in NFL history with 77,416 career passing yards and 547 passing touchdowns (Brady is now the all-time passing yards and touchdowns leader).

All of these phenomenal accomplishments happened because of God. God always takes care of His own. When you give your life to Him, He will lead you and guide you. He will give you peace and the strength to endure during the difficult moments of life. Brees could have easily given up after tearing his ACL and dislocating shoulder. God probably told him to sign with the Saints. He could have chosen to ignore this advice—particularly after seeing how the city was devastated—but he was obedient. Look what God has done in his life! He won a Super Bowl with the Saints in 2010, broke many quarterback records, and helped many in the New Orleans community.

When tough circumstances occur or when God tells you to go somewhere or to do something uncomfortable, be obedient. As you go throughout your life, always trust in God’s plan. He will make it clear when He thinks that the time is best. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Sometimes God allows certain things to happen in our lives to help us draw close to Him. In addition, He allows doors to close so that the right door of opportunity will open at just the right time.

Always trust God's plan!
